Jane Gregorie, licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist of Savannah's Saleeby Longevity Institute, will provide a free seminar on "How Acupuncture Can Help Arthritis," on Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Magnolia Manor in Richmond Hill.

Gregorie will speak about the healing effects of acupuncture and how, at the Saleeby Longevity Institute, she incorporates several other types into a treatment, based on the needs of the individual.

She also utilizes Moxibuston, Tuina, herbal medicine, nutritional counseling and meditation instruction in her healing methods.

Gregorie received her master's degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, N.M. As part of her clinical training, she also completed a yearlong acupuncture internship at a geriatric care facility in Santa Fe. She completed her undergraduate degree at The Naropa University in Boulder, Colo., where she majored in religious studies. In addition to her formal education she has spent time studying in Japan, Nepal and India.
