Rutherford  The Coalition on Aging and dozens of area sponsors banded together for another successful "Senior Safari," more than a week of food, fun and dancing, dancing, dancing!Beginning with a line dance at the Alee Temple on Sept. 11, Coastal Empire seniors were treated to a variety of events underwritten by event sponsors. From a river cruise dinner/dance to a theater outing, a symphony performance and a luau, all the events were deemed a success by organizers. Even the weather cooperated Sept. 15 for the prom on the Tybee Island pavilion as cooler breezes and lower humidity made for the perfect evening. Weekend rains held off until after the luau on Wilmington Island, which featured a great meal - and even belly dancers. |
