St John's Episcopal Church to host 2000 Holly Days Bazaar
Highlights include home and garden tour, silent auction, luncheon, candlelight dinner, raffle and white elephant sale.

For Coastal Senior

The Episcopal Church Women of St. John's Episcopal Church will host the 2000 Holly Days Bazaar on Nov. 8 and 9 at the church on Madison Square.

The Home and Garden Tour will be on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The tour will include the homes of John and Sonia Orem, Henry and Mary Lee Stevens, Bob and Cathy Jannan, Barbara Lester and several of The Landings' most beautiful residences. Additional homes will be announced in the Savannah Morning News. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling (912) 232-1251. Tickets also will be on sale at Smith Brothers in the Village on Skidaway Island.

The popular luncheon will include chili and vegetable soup, chicken salad and shrimp salad sandwiches and scrumptious desserts. Lunch is served in the historic Green-Meldrim House from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9. Large takeout orders (6 or more) are available by faxing your order to (912) 233-5559.

Imagine enjoying a seven-course dinner for 12 straight from the pages of history! "Entertaining for Dummies" author Suzanne Pollack will be this year's featured chef for the coveted Candlelight Dinner prepared and served in the Green-Meldrim House, a national historic landmark and parish house for St John's Church.

Raffle tickets for the feast will be on sale during the bazaar. Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased at St. John's Church or mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to St. John's Candlelight Dinner, c/o Mildred Derst, 12812 Rockwell Ave., Savannah, GA 31419. Tickets also may be purchased by calling (912) 232-1251.

After you finish lunch at the Green-Meldrim House, browse through the unique and elegant items in the Silent Auction. Bid on such treasures as shopping sprees to Atlanta, a weekend getaway to Tybee Island, practical items like an oil change for your car and much more. The Silent Auction is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. The White Elephant Sale and Used Book Sale is sure to have something for everyone. The bazaar runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 9.
