Morris & Whiteside Galleries presents a major exhibition of work by Glenna Goodacre, one of the United States' best-known living sculptors. The exhibition, "Inspirations from the Irish Memorial," is comprised of 40 new bronzes, the largest group of new pieces by Goodacre since her landmark 1989 exhibition in Santa Fe. Goodacre was selected from an international competition of over 100 entries to create the Irish Memorial, a monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of The Great Hunger, located in a 1-acre park at historic Penn's Landing in Philadelphia.

Goodacre has enjoyed more than three decades of success as a sculptor, receiving critical acclaim with bronzes that range in size from small head-studies to heroic public monuments. Her work can be found in public, private and corporate collections throughout the world. She is best known for the creation of the Vietnam Women's Memorial (1993) on the mall in Washington, D.C., and is also widely recognized for the design of the U.S. millennium dollar coin with the image of Sacagawea and her infant son.

Goodacre has sculpted more than 40 bronze portraits including two larger than life-size standing bronze sculptures of President Ronald Reagan, one standing at the Reagan Library in California, and the other at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. Goodacre has been a fellow of the National Sculpture Society since 1981 and a member of the National Academy of Design since 1994. Most recently, she was awarded with The Texas Medal of Honor for Visual Arts. Goodacre received honorary doctorates from Colorado College, her alma mater, and Texas Tech University in her hometown of Lubbock, Texas.
