St. Leo University lecture series is beginning

Walter Hartridge, II, attorney and preservationist, will speak on "Oglethorpe's Magnificent City Plan" as the first lecture in the Sunday in Savannah sponsored by Saint Leo University at Savannah. The talk and questions from the audience will deal with Savannah's historic squares and the need for their preservation. The lecture will take place Sunday, April 8, at the Unitarian Universalist Church on historic Troupe Square at 5 p.m.

All lectures are free to the public and are being supported by a grant from Savannah Electric and Power Co.

Other presenters are:

April 15th: "Pardon His Southern Accent - Songs and Stories about Johnny Mercer. - Playwright, actor and composer Jim Winn, accompanied by guitar and bass and assisted by Patricia Miller Wann. Unitarian Church.

April 22nd: "What's Making the Savannah Economy Expand." Economist Ray Wood. Unitarian Church.

April 29: "Educational Reform - A Dialogue." Dr. Otis S. Johnson. Unitarian Church
